Synopsis

A cold fury seeps in Ranveer's heart after the death of his lover and partner in crime, Sonia. In Race 2, we are exposed to Ranveer's multi faceted personality and his determination to avenge Sonia's killer. We are also reintroduced to RD and his new assistant Cherry who support him in his endeavors. In his attempt to track Sonia's killer, he meets Armaan and his fiancé Omisha along with Aleena. Armaan Mallick heads the Indian mafia in Turkey; and with his partner Aleena they run the shrewdest criminal outfit in the country. Ranveer treads through a world of ruthlessness depending only on his wits to accomplish his goal. A world where betrayal lurks at every corner, where loyalties change every minute and where love is just a four-letter word. Set in the exotic locales of Turkey, the narrative takes unexpected twists and turns and moves at breakneck speed to keep you at the edge of your seat.

Per Theater Chart: Gated Community

February 5th, 2013

The Gatekeepers led the way on the per theater chart with an average of $22,226 in three theaters. The only other member of the $10,000 club was Koch with an average of $17,598 in two. Both films should continue to do well on the art house circuit, but as documentaries, I doubt they will expand significantly. More...

International Box Office: Django Battles Bond for Top Spot

January 30th, 2013

There was a relatively close race on top of the international chart, but Django Unchained came out on top for the second week in a row. This time it earned $43.10 million on 6,421 screens in 64 markets for a total of $111.61 million after just two weeks of release. It is rapidly closing in on Inglourious Basterds as Quentin Tarantino's biggest hit of his career. It is also the most expensive film in his career. The film opened in first place in Australia with $3.95 million on 330 screens over the weekend for a total opening of $5.61 million. It also remained in top spot in Germany with an incredible $8.08 million on 650 screens over the weekend for a two-week total of $21.32 million. More...

Per Theater Chart: John Lives

January 29th, 2013

John Dies at the End didn't crash and burn at the box office. I'm genuinely surprised. The film's reviews were mixed, and generally speaking, even great reviews are no guarantee for a limited release. Also, it opened on Video on Demand before coming out in theaters, which is usually a death sentence for a film's box office chances. However, John Dies at the End earned first place on the per theater chart with $12,467 in its lone theater. The only other film to top $10,000 on the per theater chart was Happy People: A Year in the Taiga with $10,481, also in one theater. More...

Limited Releases: Spoiler Alert

January 25th, 2013

It's a relatively slow week for limited releases, especially if you go by the number of theater counts we've received so far. We only have a theater count for one film, Knife Fight, which likely won't have a significant opening. The film I'm most looking forward to seeing is the spoilerific John Dies at the End, but there are multiple reasons why it won't thrive in theaters. If there is only one release on this week's like that will thrive in theaters, it's Yossi, but even then it has just a 50/50 chance. More...
