Synopsis

ELSA AND FRED is the story of two people who, at the end of the road, discover that it's never too late to love. After losing his wife, Fred feels disturbed, confused and alone, so his daughter helps move him into a small apartment where he meets Elsa. From that moment on, everything changes. Elsa bursts into Fred’s life like a whirlwind, determined to teach him that the time he has left to live—be it more or less—is precious and that he should enjoy it as he pleases.

DVD and Blu-ray Releases for December 30th, 2014

The week is better than you would expect with a few notable releases, including The Equalizer, which earned just over $100 million during its theatrical run. It is also one of the best releases on this week's list and with solid extras, the Blu-ray is a contender for Pick of the Week. The other two contenders are Banshee: Season 2 on DVD or Blu-ray and Shameless: Season 4 on DVD or Blu-ray Combo Pack. It was a bit of a coin toss, but in the end I went with Shameless. More...

Everything is a Limited Release

The Theory of Everything poster
There are a ton of limited releases coming out this week, including The Theory of Everything, which many people think will be an Awards Season contender. There are also a couple of foreign-language films worth checking out, Why Don't You Play in Hell and The Way He Looks. And finally, there are a trio of documentaries, Actress, Death Metal Angola, and National Gallery. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of films earning mixed or weaker reviews, so hopefully the good films don't get squeezed out.
