Last Jedi ends Third Week with $4.3 million
January 5, 2018
Star Wars: The Last Jedi finished its third week of release with $4.3 million on Thursday giving it a total of $548.9 million after three full weeks of release. Again, it fell faster than The Force Awakens (down 4% to $6.0 million) and Rogue One (down 8% to $3.9 million). However, The Last Jedi is still on pace to become one of the biggest domestic hits of all-time, so even if it really starts to collapse from now on, it will still be a massive hit.
Internationally, The Last Jedi had a better hold earning $9.7 million on Thursday for totals of $573.5 million internationally and $1.122 billion worldwide. Japan remained the biggest single daily market with $1.7 million on Thursday for a running tally of $49.0 million. Meanwhile, the U.K. could finish as the film’s biggest international hit overall, as the film has made $98.1 million, including $1.3 million on Thursday, and there are reports that the Chinese debut is softer than expected. The Last Jedi remained in sixth place on the 2017 international chart and third place on the 2017 worldwide charts. Meanwhile, it is about to overtake Transformers: Dark of the Moon for 16th place on the all-time worldwide chart.
