No One the Best on Per Theater Chart
July 15, 2008
Tell No One showed strength during its expansion, which helped it take first place on the per theater chart with an average of $13,088 in 19 theaters. The overall box office leader, Hellboy 2 - The Golden Army, was the only other film to top $10,000 on the per theater chart with an average of $10,780.
The rest of the new releases included a trio of films that finished with nearly identical averages starting with The Exiles and its opening weekend box office of $8,448 in one theater. Meanwhile, Days and Clouds opened in 2 theaters with an average of $8,354 while August opened in just 1 with $8,092. Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired was not as lucky earning just $4,613 in its lone theater. Harold made just over $10,000 in 3 theaters for an average of $3,526, which suggests a short run, but at least is was above the Mendoza Line. Three films were not as lucky. Death Defying Acts earned an average of just $1,781 in 2 theaters, which was just ahead of Garden Party's average of $1,554. Rounding out the list of new releases was Murder.com with an opening of $1,245 in its single theater.
