Iron Rockets to the Top of the Per Theater Chart

The overall box office leader, Iron Man 2, was also the leader on the Per Theater Chart with an impressive average of $29,252. That is below expectations, but still excellent. The only other film in the $10,000 club was Mother and Child, which opened with $10,760.
No other new limited release was able to come close to $10,000 on the per theater chart. The Oath was the closest with $5,760 in one theater. The latest OSS 117 release, Lost in Rio, opened with just over $10,000 in three theaters for an average of $3,414. Casino Jack and the United States of Money was very close behind with an average of $3,137 in nine theaters. Finally we get to Multiple Sarcasms, which missed the Mendoza Line with an average of just $1,068. Given its cast, this is a surprise; given its reviews, it is not.
