Per Theater Chart: Detective Dee on the Case
September 7, 2011
The per theater chart is nearly empty and only Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame topping $10,000 over the three-day portion of the weekend. It's average from Friday through Sunday was $17,533 in three theaters. Bodyguard earned an average of $9,813 in 88 theaters over the three-day portion of the weekend, but crossed over the $10,000 mark if you include Monday. It was even more impressive if you take into account its Wednesday and Thursday numbers.
Several new limited releases performed quite strongly over the weekend, but there were also a number that struggled. Serge Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life was on the higher end earning an average of $8,396 over three days. Love Crime did well enough to suggest a potential to expand, earning an average of $7,075. Saving Private Perez did well, if you consider its theater count. The film pulled in $660,000 in 161 theaters for an average of $4,127. It likely won't expand, but it should reach $1 million with ease and $2 million is well within reach. I'm Glad My Mother Is Alive and Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles were nearly tied at $3,118 and $3,054 respectively. Seven Days In Utopia barely topped the Mendoza Line with an average of $2,325. Good Old Fashioned Orgy was not as lucky, opening with an average of $822.
