International Box Office: Mockingjay has $275 million Worldwide Weekend

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 opened in first place on the international chart with $154.3 million in 85 markets for a worldwide opening of $276.2 million. Its international opening was about 4% higher than the previously entry in the franchise. The film managed $19.8 million in the U.K. and $13.8 million in Germany. This was 5% and 9% higher than the previous film's debut in those two markets. Mockingjay, Part 1 opened 19% higher in Russia with $11.9 million. The film also topped $10 million in Mexico ($12 million) and Australia ($10.3 million).

Interstellar was pushed into second place with $71.1 million in 64 markets for a three-week total of $330.6 million internationally and $451.5 million worldwide. This includes a $41.45 million sophomore stint in China, but that was for the full week, while its total there rose to $84.59 million. The film opened in first place in Japan, but with a disappointing $1.7 million on 515 screens.

Fury returned to the top ten in third place with $12.4 million in 48 markets for a total of $74.4 million after a month of release. This includes $7.10 million in its debut in China, while it earned $3.2 million in South Korea. It earned fourth place in the former market and third place in the latter.

Rise of the Legend earned second place in China with $12.01 million over the weekend for a total of $12.98 this far.

Penguins of Madagascar fell to fifth place with $8.7 million in China for a two-week total of $24.03 million that market.

Big Hero 6 was next with $7.0 million over the weekend for a four-week total of $49.5 million. It had no major market openings this past weekend, nor does it have any new major market openings this coming weekend.

Don't go breaking My Heart 2 was well back with $4.3 million over the weekend for a total of $29.94 million.

The Imitation Game is still only playing in the U.K., but it remained strong with $3.4 million over the weekend for a two-week total of $10.7 million. This is like a $50 million to $60 million run here.

Gone Girl fell to ninth place with $2.7 million over the weekend for totals of $171.7 million internationally and $328.5 million worldwide. The film has overtaken Se7en and is just over $1 million from becoming the biggest hit in David Fincher's career.

Dumb and Dumber To rounded out the top ten with $2.0 million in 4 markets over the weekend for a two-week total of $6.07 million.
