The LEGO Movie not only earned the first place on the overall chart, but it was also the only film to top $10,000 on the per theater chart. It earned an average of $18,291, nearly doubling the average of the second place film, Kids for Cash, which earned an average of $9,160 in 4 theaters.

Nearly none of the other new limited releases that opened this past weekend did well. Alphaville was the best of the rest earning $7,298 in one theater, but it was also a re-release, so perhaps it doesn't count. Hasee Toh Phasee is a Bollywood film that was playing in 88 theaters, so its per theater average of $3,829 wasn't too bad. The rest, on the other hand, all missed the Mendoza Line. The Last of the Unjust came the closest with an average of $1,813 in 8 theaters. The Pretty One was playing in just one theater earning $1,484. A Field in England really struggled with an average of $731 in 13 theaters. Demi Soeur was right behind with $634 in its lone theater.

There appears to be no major milestone reached since last week. Nebraska came close, reaching $15 million on Monday.
