DVD Releases for June 14, 2005

June 13th, 2005

Every week films get a second chance at success from the home market; or, in some cases, a first chance at success. Here is a list of wide releases, limited releases, classics and a few from the growing TV on DVD section. It is a much slower week for DVD releases when compared to last week, but that's not surprising since last week was the the busiest week for DVD releases in a few years, at least. There are a few choices for the DVD pick of the week depending on a couple of questions. Do you own any version of Jaws? If not, pick up the 30th Anniversary Edition. Are you Canadian? If so, pick up Degrassi Junior High - Season 2, (I know I mentioned it last week, but it isn't available in Canada till tomorrow.) Otherwise, Hitch, (Buy from Amazon) is probably your best choice. Theater Counts

January 27th, 2005

Hide & Seek makes the biggest debut this weekend, opening in an impressive 3,005 theaters. Whether that's enough to secure top spot depends largely on the performance of The Aviator. The Oscar front-runner expands into 2,503 theaters, and should get a nice bounce from its nominations earlier this week. More...
