It was not a good week for new releases on the DVD rental chart.
None were able to take a spot in the top three, and this left Night at the Museum in first place with $7.38 million for the week and $28.01 million during its run.

It is not a particularly strong week for DVD releases, and I think Spider-Man 3 had a lot to do with that as it is dominating the news so much that it scared studios enough to keep them from putting out their A-list releases.
There were a few TV on DVD releases that caught my eye, like The 4400 - The Complete Third Season, as well as a few Special Editions, like Big - Extended Edition.
But in the end I'm going with a double-shot of Canadian releases, Things to Do and Trailer Park Boys - Season 6, because I'm such a hoser.
(Important note, you must import the latter title from Canada, but it's worth it.)

The
Oscar nominations were handed out today and for the most part they've followed the script written by previous awards committees fairly closely.

The Queen led the per theatre charts for the third weekend in a row, taking in an average of $22,228 in its 46 theatres.
Granted, the film has a while to catch up to the more than 50 year reign of Queen Elizabeth II, but this is still a very rare feat for a film to accomplish.
Second place went to newcomer Sweet Land with an unexpected opening weekend average of $20,930.
The only other film to top $10,000 was Little Children as the film held up very well, dipping less than 14% to $16,910.

This week's selection of limited releases includes three films opening in the lamentable "Select Cities."
Of the more limited limited releases, there are a couple of high profile films, including Deliver Us From Evil and the latest from Terry Gilliam, Tideland.
It seems likely that the former will be the best on this list on the per theatre charts, but there are a few others that could be sleeper hits.

Good week for websites, but most were smaller updates or new sites with just a few features. Two sites,
Happy Feet -
Official Site and
The Prestige -
Official Site, stood out above the crowd, but both will need a few more update to take home the Weekly Website Award.

Slow week with just over half a dozen sites on the list. Of them,
Renaissance -
Official Site is clearly the best with a few others showing promise.
