Of the contenders, Jackie Chan's Police Story - Special Collector's Edition and The Simpsons - The Complete Ninth Season - Collectable Lisa Head Packaging came close to taking home the honor. But in the end I went with When the Levees Broke. More...

July 25th, 2006

There were no new releases to top $10,000 on the per theatre charts this week, but two holdovers were able to accomplish that feat. Gabrielle added one more theatre over the weekend but saw its average slip less than 17% to $12,781. Meanwhile, Changing Times quadrupled its theatre count while seeing its average fall to $10,622. Candy Just as Sweet the Second Time Around

April 25th, 2006

There were no new releases to top $10,000 on the per theatre charts this weekend, but there were two holdovers to manage that feat. Hard Candy repeated on the top of the per theatre chart despite falling 35% to $18,901, which is a steep drop-off for a limited release. Second place went to Sir! No, Sir!. That film, which had been playing in San Francisco and Oakland for the past two weeks, opened at the IFC Center earning $11,930 during its first weekend there. More...
